In an alternate Norway, the government has declared war on folklore.
Fairy tales are being banned, old stories are being erased, and a special task force has been established to hunt down the creatures those stories were built around. If the beings can be captured, controlled, or proven real, then myth can be stripped of mystery and turned into something manageable.
In Sagnomsust, players lead competing expeditions of experts, hunters and field agents into forests, marshes, lakes, caves and mountain passes to track legendary beings from Nordic folklore. Through clues, terrain reading, investigation and calculated risk, players try to locate and capture elusive creatures before time runs out.
Each hunt unfolds differently. Some beings remain close to water. Some circle ruins and camps. Some twist the signs around them and lead hunters in the wrong direction. Success depends on reading the map, committing to a route, and knowing when to act.
Sagnomsust is a medium-weight strategy game of folklore, pursuit and control — set in a world where the state wants fairy tales gone, and has sent you to finish the job.
