Razor's Edge is a two to four player operational-level game covering the British naval, air and land campaign to retake the Falkland Islands from Argentina in 1982. It is a 'sandbox' game that allows both sides to experiment with different approaches and tactics to those historically adopted.
The game encompasses all aspects of the campaign, from the initial attempt by the British to gain air and naval dominance to the choice and execution of amphibious landing site to the land battles required to retake Stanley. Submarines, special forces and the need to detect the location and strength of enemy forces all feature.
Both sides must grapple with changeable and debilitating weather effects, logistical challenges, and tests to the political resolve of London and Buenos Aires to continue the fight.
The game has its genesis in an exercise used to train the British Royal Marines, and as such will be suitable both for professional military education and hobby gamers interested in the setting and the challenges posed when launching an amphibious assault 8,000 miles from home.
